Project Safe water borehole for Gongontol, Upper West Region
Gongontol, may only be a small community of 150 but people who live there are valued as much as any larger community as their water needs remain the same when suffering from the effects of water borne diseases, such as bilharzia and cholera.
Children are missing too much education because of the need to find and carry water before school, as well time off school because of sickness. Their normal water source is a pond that becomes a sump hole in the dry season which takes 35mins for a single trip. Each water collector does nine trips each day which means 5 hours a day collecting unsafe water.
Ghana Outlook would love to provide a safe water supply for the community. Can you help us?
