Lives changed for the community of Lobayiri who now have their own safe water supply thanks to your support
Project Safe water borehole for Lobayiri, Bamkpama, Upper West Region
Lobayiri, may only be a small community of 111 but the people who live there are valued equally as much as any larger community as their water needs remain the same when suffering from the effects of water borne diseases, such as spirogyras, bilharzia and cholera. The source was shared by many wild animals and there was also the constant danger of snake bites.
As of December 2024, they have their own and very first safe water bore hole that will provide safe water for families and their farm animals that they depend on so much.
For Hon. Peter, he is very happy that the burden of looking for people or organization to provide water for the community has been lifted from his shoulder by the donor. He vowed that he will make sure the community will take care of the borehole and even supported them to make a garden around the borehole area. On behalf of the people of Lobayiri, he thanked the donor for giving back their dignity.
Zakaria, Abena, Jeanette as well as Emelia shared the same gratefulness and joy of having their own borehole water now as they no longer suffer to look for it and can now attend to their other needs in the house and in the farm as well as go to school early.
